Private markets

Investing in the foundations of growth.

Physical assets shape the capacity of an economy: its energy, industry, connectivity and ability to serve a growing population. Dewan Caan Vanderbilt’s real-assets agenda considers infrastructure development, operating businesses and the modernisation of existing assets, connecting the requirements of the real economy with appropriate capital and digital infrastructure.

Real Assets & Infrastructure

A practical view of long-term value.

Our focus begins with the purpose an asset serves and the conditions required for it to operate well. Demand, ownership, construction, energy, maintenance and contractual arrangements all shape the investment case. We consider these factors together when evaluating development and recovery opportunities.

Our development agenda includes industrial transformation, energy and computing infrastructure, resources, tourism and property initiatives. Proposed projects are advanced through asset-specific assessment and local partnerships, with clear responsibility for delivery and oversight.

Our focus

Where we concentrate.

01

Digital infrastructure

Data centres, network connectivity and supporting energy systems are important components of the technology economy. Our development work considers sites, utility capacity, phased construction, cooling and operational resilience as an integrated plan. Infrastructure is sized to the intended computing workload and the realistic availability of power, equipment and customers.

02

Industrial renewal

Established industrial assets can present opportunities for renewed productivity when operating problems and capital requirements are properly understood. We consider rehabilitation, equipment investment and business transformation in the context of customer demand, supply chains and management capability, including situations where a viable operating enterprise requires a new ownership or funding structure.

03

Resources and productive assets

Our areas of interest include energy, minerals, gold recovery and other productive assets that can support industrial development. Each opportunity requires a clear account of title, technical quality, operating permissions, production economics and the route to market. These fundamentals also inform any subsequent consideration of financing or digital representation through tokenisation.

04

Property and tourism

The development agenda extends to the renewal of tourism properties and the organisation of property and community-development initiatives. We consider operating models, development scope, visitor or occupier demand and project-level economics, with digital asset tokenisation assessed as a potential financing and administration tool where the structure is suitable.

Our approach

From conviction to execution.

Assess the asset

Examine physical condition, title, demand, operating obligations and the investment required to deliver the intended use.

Plan the delivery

Define the commercial model, implementation responsibilities, funding sequence and milestones for construction, rehabilitation or operational improvement.

Manage for duration

Consider maintenance, resource efficiency, reporting and stakeholder relationships throughout the expected operating life of the asset.
