Our approach to a clear, usable and accessible website.
We aim to make the website readable and usable across a wide range of devices and input methods. The design uses semantic page structure, labelled controls, descriptive links and scalable text.
Use Tab and Shift + Tab to move between links and controls. A “Skip to content” link appears when focused. Menus open with their buttons and close with Escape. The search dialogue can be opened with the search button or the / key when you are not typing in a form.
Regional tabs support the arrow keys and Home and End keys. Directory filters use labelled buttons with selected states. The website respects reduced-motion preferences and provides a print layout for long-form articles.
The layout responds to narrower screens and browser zoom. Images include descriptive alternative text where they contribute content. Core information and navigation remain available as ordinary web pages.
If you encounter a barrier, email enquiries@dewancaanvanderbilt.com with the page address, a description of the issue and, if useful, the browser or assistive technology you are using. We welcome specific feedback that helps improve access.
